Record receipt

Record the material name, lot number, condition on receipt, date received and the person who accepted it. Keep the original shipping and temperature control documentation when it is supplied.

Check before storage

Confirm that the label and the accompanying record name the same material and lot. Read the storage condition stated for that product before you move the vial. Do not substitute a general temperature or shelf life assumption for the label or the manufacturer documentation.

Storage conditions

Maintain the specified storage conditions and protect the material from the exposures listed in its product record. Document any deviation under your quality procedure. Keep the container closed except during approved handling.

Transfer log

Record each transfer, inspection or status change according to your documentation procedures. Include the material received, storage location, lot reviewed and document used to determine handling requirements.
